Advanced Film Deconstructions / Roadmaps

10 Day Screenplay Includes Video Lessons

Sylvester Stallone wrote Rocky (1976) in 3 days, Joe Eszterhas wrote Basic Instinct (1992) in 13 days and Kristen-Wiig wrote Bridesmaids (2011) in 6 days. Once you know what you're doing, it is perfectly feasible to write your first draught in 10 days. From the opposite POV, why spend a year doing it? Certainly, you won't have this option when you have to meet deadlines.

It's not just about writing a lot, it's about knowing how to take your characters through the process - where to start, what archetypes to introduce and when, leading your characters through each stage of the journey, benchmarking in the right places, using the correct symbolism, resolving challenges in the correct order, achieving the multiple catharses etc.

Don't believe you can write a screenplay in ten days? Think of it this way: it takes ten years and ten days to write your first good screenplay - ten years of getting your head around the concepts and ten days to write it. Once you've done the ten years, the second screenplay only takes another ten days. We're trying to get you to think the post-ten-year way of thinking today.

Each day for ten days you will receive an email which will guide you - each email contains four blocks of instruction, each with its own accompanying video lesson.
